Biography
The first thing hacked Clockwork Builder 9V-02474-11G3 thought to do when he gained sentience was to find pants. He simply couldn't fathom how the other automatons in the world could just go around doing their business so shamelessly. At the least, he figured he himself could exhibit a little decency and set a positive example.
(Also, he's kinda shy.)
The next thing he thought to do was to somehow become an asset to the community and provide a service to society. And not necessarily to do good for mankind but to do good for a more inclusive personkind, be it human, robotic, alien or otherwise. Somewhere in his programming came the directive to value all living and intelligent beings, however that life or spark came to be. Call it a holdover from his original programming as it was there that his existence was defined to serve others. And 9V-02474-11G3 still wants to do that.
Pants obtained, next on his list of things to do is altruism. Maybe afterward he can see about how to make Pad Thai.

Personality
So named by a shopkeeper after getting caught completely engrossed in fascination by discarded battery cells (and also noting the first couple characters of his serial number), 9-Volt is insatiably curious about the world. Before, his scope of interest was so very focused by his programming that anything that lay outside that directive may as well have not existed. Now though, his cognizance has irised out and he sees everything and sees everyone. And he's full of questions.
Due to his curiosity, he is often very inquisitive, constantly asking "What's that?" with a sort of child-like naivete and innocence.
That isn't to say that he's unaware of the ways of the world. He has seen cruelty before and discovered that not only does it come in conflict with his core directives but that he has not the taste for it.
Occasionally, he will try to strike up conversations with other machines, taking it for granted that they must be sentient like himself. It usually takes him a moment to realize that they aren't before he goes and sees something and inquires what it is.
Powers
Spark Shaping
9-Volt is able to harness the very energy that powers his electronic form, expel it from his body and give it shape. Though, given time, doing so causes him harm if given no opportunity to recuperate, he gladly gives up his spark in order to protect the spark of others.
