Biography
Destiny? I don't think so. I mean anybody could've stumbled into the middle of that ritual. Lucky me. Sometimes I wonder where I'd be if I had run the other way instead.
I really should've seen it coming. For that matter, in this town, I'm surprised stuff like this doesn't happen even more often than it does.
But I didn't even notice the mystics until I tripped over one of them and fell right into the middle of their circle. Running away from muggers, of all things. I didn't hit the ground, I just hung there in the air. A second later, just like that, everything went black. I couldn't see a thing, not even the backs of my eyelids. I thought for sure I was about to end up demon food or something.
A weird chill sank through my clothes, my skin, my bones. My skin was crawling like a colony of ants, but after a moment it settled down a bit, and I realized that the feeling was actually outside my skin, even beyond the reach of my arms. I was still floating in midair, but I could "feel" the ground a few feet below me. It was like having a thousand stretchy liquid fingers. I felt the dewy grass, the roots of nearby trees, the cultists I had interrupted, all at once. Their clothes, their skin, their hair. Their weapons being drawn.
They started closing in, but I could tell by their cautious steps that they couldn't see anything either. I still felt the ground a short distance below me, and found I could pull myself along it. I floated right through the cultists without a sound, and once I reached the ground I took off running.
The rest of that night is kind of a blur. I wandered around for a while before some heroes found me and helped me get home.
They put me in contact with MAGI. I went in hoping for a cure. They didn't have one.
Azuria kept talking about my destiny. I told her, "High school guidance counselors don't believe in destiny." Still, the more I heard about the hero gig, it didn't sound so bad. With their help, I learned how to control my flight much better. Which is not only exhilirating, but really vital to me since I can't drive a car anymore.
I still work as a guidance counselor during the day. Every kid has hero potential, even if they end up squandering it. My own experiences are always a good icebreaker with the kids. I've done some pretty weird stuff in the name of justice.
I've been inducted into the Paladins of the Night. The other paladins have taught me a lot about making the most of my powers. I never would've thought that meditation was for me, but it really does help me focus.
So that's me. You can call me Bob. Just another denizen in a city of heroes.
Affiliations
Bob is a member of the Paladins of the Night supergroup on the Virtue server.
Personality
Having grown up in Paragon City, Bob has seen a lot of strange things. He can come across as a bit jaded. He has an unusually relaxed attitude toward personal danger, but he is also very passionate about helping the innocent. He is sensitive and sympathetic.
Powers
excerpt from the MAGI case file: The disrupted ritual infused Bob with an elemental darkness. He wears it as a shield, and wields it as a weapon. He can also use its negative energy to negate his own body's gravity. The darkness blinds his eyes, but as it emanates from his body it provides him with a sort of tactile sense of his environment. The darkness is now an extension of him.

Miscellaneous
Like many of my toons, Bob didn't start out with a bio. My only preliminary thought was that he was kind of an average guy who came upon his powers by accident. I played him for a good while, and let his early experiences and my playstyle with him dictate a few things about his background.
