Biography
He'd been a source of evil, a criminal bruiser with a penchant for pain. When he was taken down, whole neighborhoods turned out to see him in chains. He was convicted and sentenced with a speed that was amazing. He wasn't afraid, he knew his associates would break him out.
And break him out, they did...but they overdid it. The explosions that should have opened his path to freedom instead trapped him under tons of debris, and his associates fled the scene.
Helping to clean up the disaster, members of the Viridian Guard found the nearly lifeless body. Doctors worked to save his life, but the outlook was not good. His body would live, they said, but his brain had been damaged, and he would never know who he'd been. They quipped that someone might as well have just hit him with a hammer.
The Guard took care of the mindless man, bringing him back to life. The Viridian Force's empowering energies gave him armoring and a weapon, as well as a new identity as the Guard's protector.

Personality
He's not always the sharpest pencil in the box, but he's at least average. What he lacks in brains, though, he makes up for in dedication and perseverance.
Powers
Brainhammer uses the Viridian Force to form shining armor around his mangled body, protecting him form attack. It also manifests as a large warhammer with which he gives as good as he gets.
