Biography
Greg Samson had been a promising young doctor at Crowne Memorial, until the day he was called to the Portal Corporation's complex to treat someone hurt in a transdimensional accident. A cloud of inky, alien darkness followed the injured man back from the other dimension. When the portal overloaded, Greg was caught in the blast.
The last thing he remembers is that dark cloud slamming into him. Greg found that the combination of the darkness and the portal's radiation allowed him to focus his medical skills into strange and wondrous healing abilities, though the dark thing inside him caused some frightening powers, as well. Eventually, he learned to channel even this dark energy in helpful ways.

Personality
Even after his accident, Greg never lost his desire to help people. He may be a hero, but he's a doctor, first and foremost. Still, he worries that the dark energies may one day be too much to handle.
Powers
The need to heal seems to have been magnified by the combination of the overloaded portal's radiation and the alien energy. He's learned to harness the energy overflow by using it in attacking blasts and shielding.
