Biography

Flint Mason was a student of the earth. No stranger to subterranean wanderings, he was unsurprised when a tunnel he was exploring led him to an abandoned sewer. There, though, he encountered an ancient homeless woman who quickly seized him and uttered, "The battle, the lore and the power are now yours" before falling dead at his feet. The pipes around him suddenly glowed hotly, sigils appearing in their vented steam. In an instant Flint's brain burned hot with new knowledge.

It was revealed to him that since the dawn of civilization, there has been an ongoing struggle between Nature and Cities. Metropoli, as few know, are living things with names, dreams and fears. And power. While they desire to grow unfettered and consume, Nature has always fought against them.

Flint now whispers in the language of Cities. Channeling the elemental powers of concrete and glass, metal and smoke, Flint now has a part in the continuing battle against Nature that Metropoli have engaged in for eons.

Personality

Flint is a man of the city (both uppercase and lowercase versions). He is a creature of convenience and finds little sense in "roughing it" when we've come so far as a civilization to no longer have to. He feels most at home in the middle of a crowd or in the center of downtown, the noises and odors bringing a smile to his face while the buildings spread out around him as tall, silent sentinels, instilling in him an indescribable sense of security.

This isn't to say that he has never taken a step outside of the city. If pushed, he can and will go outside of the urban area. Doing so, though, causes him an insurmountable amount of grief as he withdraws into himself, a dour expression cast upon his person instantly.

He values friends and is quick to share anything and everything with them as community is one of the most important things in the world to him. When asked about his life before he learned to speak with The City, he quickly glosses over details as, according to him, that life no longer matters.

Powers

Friend of Concrete
Through spellcasting granted by his connection to Metropoli, Edifice can summon and shape the outer skin of The City, causing structures of concrete to form and animate.

Champion of Skyscrapers
Intoning arcane words taught to him by his namesake, Edifice can partially assume the material form of that which makes up buildings: glass and metal. These elements jut out from various points of his body, affording him protection from those who draw near and bestowing upon him natural weapons.
